The Challenge Responsibilities for the position include: Developing new processes and improving existing processes to develop new monomer and polymer molecules and resins to provide growth to the business by accessing new markets. Working in an interdisciplinary team to define new opportunities and to find cost effective material and process solutions for new engineering materials. Extending rigor to take new products from the laboratory to the manufacturing floor, ensuring consistent manufacturing performance of the products. Your Profile Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline 3+ years of experience in an industrial setting in process technology/engineering. Experience with Specialty Monomers/Polymers or extensive knowledge of unit operations in chemical industry Piloting and lab experience preferred. Excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle diverse responsibilities. Willingness to be a team player. Als Junior Process Engineer maak je deel uit van de afdeling Process Technology in Groningen. Deze afdeling bestaat uit enthousiaste en ambitieuze medewerkers. Als Junior Process Engineer realiseer je samen met het team in Groningen het proces technologisch ontwerp voor installaties en fabrieken, voor bijna alle sectoren van de industrie. Samen met je collega's ben je er verantwoordelijk voor dat het proces technologisch ontwerp binnen tijd en budget en volgens de gestelde kwaliteitseisen worden uitgevoerd. Het proces technologisch ontwerp omvat onder andere conceptstudies, process flowdiagrammen, P&ID's, process data sheets, HAZOP- studies, procesbeschrijvingen en bedieningshandboeken. Je voert intensief overleg met je team, collega's van andere disciplines en de opdrachtgever, om zo tot een eenduidig totaalontwerp te komen.
 
Solid State Detector Physics / Process Engineer

The function's responsibility area is solid state detector systems for XRD and XRF where the emphasis is on electrical and physical design, (manufacturing) processing and (spectroscopic) testing of detector components, in particular but not limited to electronic (chip-) parts. Maintaining technical contacts with suppliers of technologies and (scientific) networks in detector field is essential. Examples of relevant technology areas are chip bump-bonding processing, wire-bonding, hybrid assembly (ceramic to chip technology). All relevant technologies relate to the very front-end of the detector system, i.e. the detector module assembly and it's design. Initial focus will be on Silicon Drift Detector systems, but this will evolve to more types of solid state detectors. Detector hardware design is also part of responsibility. Your activity area will also be, after appropriate training in the measurement of the detectors and their support, the assembly and further development of X-ray and optical test equipment. The job requires the applicant to understand the application requirements, and to work closely together with other highly trained professionals in technologically challenging multi-disciplinary projects. As a Solid State Detector Physics / Process Engineer you will work closely with detector physicists, process technologists (internal as well as external) and electronic hardware and software developers in the same R&D team. You will be active in the R&D Detector Group.

The primary activity of STC Geleen is to define and to work out research projects aimed at the optimization of existing petrochemical and polymer processes and development of new ones. Our Technology Development department has an opening for a process development engineer. The Challenge As a process development engineer you will be working in the Technology Development department of SABIC Technology Center Geleen as part of the professional and international Technology & Innovation organization. Your tasks and responsibilities are: To improve olefin production processes and product performance in terms of output, quality, consistency and costs. To work in a multidisciplinary setting, both within Technology & Innovation -where you will collaborate with different disciplines- and in the business and manufacturing environment -where project approval and implementation needs to be secured. To manage development projects: to effectively define goals and priorities and identify the activities and resources needed to achieve these goals. To develop and communicate a vision of new developments in petrochemical process technology. Your Profile You are educated to Master level in chemical technology. You have process development work experience in the field of olefins technology in a manufacturing or industrial R&D organization. You are a critical observer as well as a conceptual and analytical thinker. You are able to spot opportunities for existing and new processes and products and translate these into business terms. You are able to present your project proposals and results in a convincing manner to both business and manufacturing management. You have preferably experience in reactor engineering, kinetic modeling, design and operation of unit operations and the use of computational tools for flowsheeting of petrochemical production processes. You are able to keep abreast of the state of the art in process technology and gain knowledge of associated fields and disciplines. You are a team player but you are also able to work independently on your contribution. You have a persevering and challenging attitude towards your work environment, but you can also accept other views. You are fluent in oral and written English. Process Engineer

Department The Site Geleen encompasses 7 plants, including 2 Naphtha crackers, a Logistics unit, a Polypropylene and 2 Polyethylene units. The Naphtha crackers produce 1,250,000 tonnes of ethylene and 675,000 tonnes of propylene which are mainly used as feedstock for the successive poly-olefins plants. Our polyethylene product range includes all of the commodity thermoplastic polymers, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE), and high density polyethylene (HDPE). The polypropylene product range includes block copolymer and specialty automotive grades. Structure Site Geleen On the site we have a clear split between Running Business (short term) and Site Improvements (long term). As well Running Business as Site Improvements are divided into Polymers and C&I. Site Services supports all these departments. The Running Business is responsible for a safe and maximum production. Site Improvements is responsible for the right suggestions to improve the production process, including process integrity and safety, and for the implementation of the suggestions. The purpose for Site Services is to service all departments in an efficient; transparent en customer friendly way. The Site Management Team consists of the Site Director; Directors of Running Business; Site Improvements and Site Services. To enhance our workforce we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Process Engineer for the department Site Improvements Polymers. The Challenge Our Process Engineers Site Improvements are challenged: to improve the production process regarding capacity & capability, reliability & Availability and Integrity & Compliancy to support and advise the management to achieve Safety, Health & Environmental, financial and business objectives to create added value on process technological fields and manufacturing costs to conduct investigations and studies to set up and implement projects to stimulate and work together in multidisciplinary teams. Their main responsibilities are: Responsible for technological input for the conceptual, basic and detailed engineering of defined projects. Responsible for technological input for legislation related items (License to Operate) e.g., Process Hazard Review and SIL-studies. Responsible for technological input for multidisciplinary studies, Tripods/RCA, FMEA-studies. Challenging and supporting management and other process engineers with respect to technological issues/opportunities. Responsible for the technological output of feasibility studies including financial evaluation. Technological evaluation of completed projects. Responsible for boundaries (operating windows, SHE related issues) regarding Process Technology, Recipe and Quality in which installations can be run. Responsible for technological input on 2nd line troubleshooting for Running Business. Your Profile You have finished your master in Chemical Engineering and preferably have 2 years experience in the (petro-) chemical industry. Additional education and experience in the field of Engineering is a preference. You are a good communicator and you have well developed social skills. You have excellent analytical skills and you can switch between conceptual and detailed level. You show ownership and you are eager to reach the agreed results.
