Manager who has great concern for Health, Safety en Environment within a complex offshore project. Balance is an agency for consultancy, project and interim management for our clients within the technical domain. We carry out complex and large projects and provide project management and different types of project control. Balance works according to technical, financial and legal perspectives, which represent the three basic pillars of projects. Our clients are governments, services, contractors and utility markets. For one of her clients, Balance is hiring a: HSE Manager Offshore Wind As HSE Manager, you will be responsible for all the HSE matters within the project, performed by the German project organization. The project consists of hooking up an offshore wind farm on to the main power grid on land, through an offshore transformer platform. The HSE policy and process will have to be setup, followed by checking if all work performed by third parties, is conform the guidelines and standards. The right technical skills and personal awareness, to be able to fulfill the project together with the (sub)contractors, the suppliers and the manufacturers, is necessary. All the required inspections, checks, and double checks have to be performed, while the entire process keeps on going in close consultation with the project team, within time and budget. Examples of tasks and responsibilities: - Setting up HSE plans and guidelines according to all required standards; - Coordinating implementation of the HSE plans and making sure the guidelines are followed by all parties involved in the project; - Creating awareness within the project for HSE matters; - Performing internal and external checks at (sub)contractors, suppliers and manufacturers, according to the HSE plans and guidelines that are prescribed; - Responsible for compliance of all HSE plans, together with managing and reviewing the internal documentation of the process; - Monitoring the implementation of HSE procedures and guaranteeing HSE related activities during the design phase, procurement phase and construction phase; - Performing internal and external audits, following standards like ISO9001, ISO14001, ISM, ISPS, OHSAS etc. Candidate profile: - Minimum Bachelor degree in Engineering, Safety Science or a comparable discipline; - Experience in projects during the design, procurement and construction phase in the offshore industry, preferably within the offshore wind industry; - Experience in a similar roll and position, responsible for HSE; - Business fluent in spoken and written English, articulate in spoken and written communication. Dutch and German is advantageous; - Willingness of working in Germany (Bremen area); - Physical fitness and willingness to travel essential because of offshore deployments - High level of assertiveness, initiative and independence as well as being a strong communicator, to be able to convince all parties; - Interpersonal skills and capacity for teamwork, creativity, motivation, persuasiveness, perseverance, pragmatic, diplomatic, analytical and tenacious.
