    Het uitvoeren van de scheepswerktuigbouwkundige ontwerp- en constructiewerkzaamheden in overleg met de Projectmanager. Daarvoor werkt u zelfstandig de scheepswerktuigbouwkundige systemen uit binnen de van toepassing zijnde specialty. U voert de opdrachten uit binnen de kaders, afgesproken planning, urenbudget en de overeengekomen kwaliteitsnormen en standaarden. U zorgt voor het tijdig verzend gereed hebben van de tekeningen en documenten ten behoeve van externe partijen. U begeleidt de engineers (technisch). ook signaleert u meer- en minderwerk en heeft daarover contact met de Projectmanager. U bent budgetverantwoordelijk voor de taken binnen de betreffende vakdiscipline binnen het project. Het is wenselijk dat u werkt aan het vergroten van uw kennis van de vakdiscipline en dat u die kennis overdraagt aan projectmedewerkers.

(sr.) Naval Architect

As a naval architect you will be a member of the naval architectural design discipline, responsible for the design and analysis of our full range of offshore units. The type of units to be designed can be monohull vessels, semi-submersible units, jack-ups or any arbitrary or innovative hull shape. Your work includes concept and basic design of offshore units and involvement in projects with responsibility for supervision of detailed design and specification and selection of equipment. Design and analysis responsibility include general arrangements, lines plans, design calculations including stability, speed/power and dynamic positioning analysis. The focus of your work will be on the definition and determination of the overall design of the vessel and translation of functional requirements into a feasible design. As a (sr) naval architect you lead a team of engineers and designers drawn from the hydrodynamics & stability and design disciplines.

The Naval Architect is the Innovations Department's responsible person in relation to Naval Architecture and Engineering. Our Innovations Department is responsible for all modifications to, and new construction designs for, our vessels and equipment. This includes working on design, analysis, working procedures, material takeoff, etc. The (Senior) Naval Architect reports directly to the Manager Innovations. Job tasks: Assist and advise technical and operational departments on ensuring compliance with class requirements and relevant codes for our vessels; Ensure that software is up to date and validated; Prepare vessel modification proposals and/or liaise with the Structural Engineering, Technical and Operations Departments on these modifications; Prepare and attend procedures for vessel tests or special marine operations; Prepare calculations on stability, vessel motions, propulsion and vessel strength.
