In Corporate Security Services (CSS) several expert areas cooperate to provide integrated security services to our business partners. These areas include Information Security, Business Continuity, Fraud Prevention, Physical Security, Coordination & Intelligence and Investigations. Our CSS EMEA (Europe, Middle-East & Africa) team services our businesses in EMEA through our two main hubs in Amsterdam, and Poland, and through several Regional Security Officers in the European footprint. Working in this department gives the opportunity to operate in an international environment, with colleagues from various cultures and with different backgrounds and areas of expertise. All CSS EMEA staff engage with colleagues from different countries on a daily basis which creates an understanding of various security trends and issues in different environments. The role also enables you to broaden your understanding of working in a large international company. As a CSS EMEA Intern you are responsible for supporting the Investigations and Coordination & Intelligence functions. The intern will do so in supporting in the following activities: Proactively produce, develop and assess a wide range of MI and Intelligence for the purposes of identifying potential opportunities to prevent financial crime and allocate as investigation cases in consultation with management. Provide coherent and informed guidance to business stakeholders and customers and conduct expedient tracing, freezing and recovery of funds. Support in a wide range of desk research. Maximise the utilisation of (senior) investigators, by undertaking appropriate desk based investigation activities on live cases and in support of those (senior) investigators e.g. production and assessment of audit trails. Support complex and conduct basic trend analysis to identify potential risks, issues and threats to the RBS Group, working closely, as directed, with other areas of Security and Risk, the RBS Group and the financial services industry. University studies in a field that is related to the activities of Corporate Security Services EMEA or RBS (criminology, law, political science, economics, international relations, finance etc.) Excellent knowledge of and the ability to draft documents in English Experience with computers (Word, Excel, Internet) ability to understand the complexity of organisations knowledge of financial industry is a pre ability to find innovative solutions to a wide range of problems Self-starting, critical, independent and inquisitive mind-setYour Contract: Intention is for three months with possibility to extend. Are you eager to deal with environmental, social and governance issues? We offer you the opportunity to develop yourself as an Assistant ESG-Analyst. If you are enthusiastic and result driven, you might be the perfect match for this role. About the position Your responsibility is to analyse firms and sectors on the basis of ‘environmental, social and governance (ESG)’ criteria, following our proprietary ESG-research process. Conducting high-quality sector- and company analyses, summarising findings in professional reports is key. The aim is to select firms that are eligible for investment, with a focus on small- and midcap companies. You may also support the team with other ad-hoc tasks or with smaller projects that can be rather diverse. In your role as an Assistant ESG-Analyst you will report to the Head of ESG-research; on a daily basis, you will often be functionally coached by our Sr. ESG-Analysts. What you’ll need Your academic study should relate to investments (like Finance & Investments, Investment Analysis, Investment Management) or economics and/or ESG-related studies (e.g. development economics, environmental economics, social geography etc.).
