Robert Half Finance & Accounting is currently seeking an independent European Payroll & Benefits Analyst on behalf of this client. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager in the United States, this position owns and administers payroll and benefits for the European offices. This includes negotiation and implementation of payroll and benefits for new countries, partnering with vendors, main point of contact for employee payroll and benefit questions and processing accurate and timely payroll. Responsibilities: Monthly processing of all European payrolls including reviewing and processing. Working closely with payroll vendors, and managing their Service Level Agreements will be the key to success. Payroll processing includes new hires, terminations, commissions, bonuses, absences, and other specific employee transactions. Partner with external vendors to establish payroll and benefits in new countries. Provide customer service to all internal employees, managers and Human Resources regarding European Payroll and Benefit issues. Ensure timely funding of all relevant payrolls. Payroll related benefits administration including pension schemes, and salary sacrifice schemes. Responsible for end of Year reporting. Efficient handling of all European payroll related queries. Preparation and submission of all documents and information required in accordance with local regulations. Prepare month-end accounting entries and postings as needed. Work with payroll providers to ensure compliance with legislations and company policies. Assisting with current and future HRIS / Payroll system upgrades. Ad-hoc duties and project work as required. Prepare training materials for new and existing employees so they may become familiar with payroll policies and procedures. Work closely with managers in other departments to ensure compliance with same. Research, and implement with manager competitive benefits offered in each region. Ensure existing benefits are best in class and legally compliant with local regulations. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency; as well as standardize processes. Work closely with manager to develop and implement world-class marketing campaigns to communicate our benefits programmes to employees and management. Maintain highly confidential information and privacy of personnel files. Audit, (SOX) and Other Controls: Develop and/or maintain documentation of all Payroll and Employee Expense controls and procedures. Coordinate and manage the production of all audit deliverables relating to Payroll and Employee Expense. Implement control processes as required to ensure consistent and robust compliance with all required accounting policies and controls worldwide. Ensure all related accounts are timely and accurately reviewed and reconciled to ensure the integrity of the corporate financial records. Review journal entries and reconciliations as required. Identify risk areas and take action to mitigate risk. Help with probation tracking. Collect new hire paperwork from employees their first day of work, store in employee files Be aware of, and comply with, corporate policies.
